2 weeks ago went to Avoriaz with Brumski. That was cool. Much drinking, definitely feel boarding took a back seat. The weather wasn’t great, but that’s no excuse. Amazingly had a couple of powder days. Not surprisingly had a couple of days of rain, but didn’t seem to affect the snow that much, which was a relief. Much comedy fancy dress, which is documented on the photos page mentioned in the previous post. Highlights were the meal on the mountain as always – we were thrown out for having food fights, being turned away from a bar en masse, some ppl nearly being thrown out of resort by the police, shredding the gnar under beautiful sunshine, discovering awesome kebabs in a mountain restaurant and generally screwing Ed over in ring of fire.
Came home from that and immediately went out in Chelt for Laura’s birthday. Argh. Body was wrecked in time for my Monday return to work, but then to make things better (obviously) went down to London on Tues & Weds for a night out with some Whistler peeps. Met Tiff in the day both days (and Bruno & Rena), went for afternoon tea in the Waldorf, like one does when one is in London, visited the London eye, a Dali exhibition and wandered round lovely Covent Garden. Saw a squirrel in a glass. Witnessed a bit of a pikey fracar, learnt & forgot things, then headed home late Weds for work on Thurs & Fri.
Back down to London on the weekend for a reunion with old uni crew via Al’s on Friday to watch the surreal comedy, “the Green Wing” – quite random. Out in Angel, drinks then dinner at a Mediterranean restaurant which I specified in jest, on to the Ruby lounge nr Bond Street for mental cocktails and to drop a shitload of cash, then back to Angel to be confronted with a massive queue for Elbow Rooms which duly got sacked off. Ended up in some other dodge bar which was rammed, full of smoke, and expensive :) by this time though I was completely off my face, so whatever. Mother of a hangover on Sunday but spent all day in’t pub watching footie and arsing about. Neglected at the train station for half an hour on my return but got to hang out with some ASBOs, then collapsed in bed for work Mon & Tues.
Thank the stars I’m done from now ’til next Weds, which gives me some time to prep for the carnage that’s bound to take place this weekend in Edinburgh. I’m using the time to search for my new job, although I’m presented with somewhat of a dilemma… That’s another post in the making. Will probably be working from home a little bit too. Anyway, that’s boring stuff. I consider this up to speed(ish).
Fin.
