More news, not sales messages

Hypocritical maybe, but the above speech makes a large number of pertinent observations on the state of the UK media. I am strongly opposed to the press’, and tabloids in particular, use of sensationalism and propaganda as it is a cause of unrest and potentially damaging to society. His comment about having to spend an increasing amount of time defusing press (and press-inspired) furores is absolutely spot on. Reporting should be based on fact rather than speculation. A transition back to this mode of operation would (could?) result in more efficient government, and restore relative transparency to the industry.

(I don’t know what to write, i think i largely agree with what you say. Reporting should be based on fact – but then politicians should be speaking facts rather then spewing crap). Hmmmm
